This notice describes information handled by Merovila when you read this website or use its contact form. It reflects the services currently deployed, rather than features we may add later. Merovila is an editorial website for adults aged 18 and over.
Browsing and standard server logs
Our server receives information needed to deliver a requested page. Standard access and error logs may include an IP address, request time, requested path, response status, browser information, and a referring page when provided by your browser. These records support operation, troubleshooting, and abuse investigation.
The site does not currently offer reader registration, subscriptions, or newsletter accounts. It does not currently deploy Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party advertising scripts. We do not build a dating profile for you from your visit.
Information sent through the contact form
The form accepts your name, email address, subject, and message. Submissions are stored in a private server directory outside the publicly served website directory so the site operator can review and respond to an inquiry. Please send only information needed for that purpose. Do not include passwords, payment information, identity documents, or sensitive details about another person.
The contact process also uses a hashed representation of the submitting IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting. A hash is a protective measure, not a promise that the information is impossible to associate with a submission. Necessary session information supports the contact form's security checks. Purposes and access
We use contact information to receive, review, and respond to your inquiry; investigate a reported error or concern; and protect the form from abuse. Access to stored submissions is limited to the site operator and appropriately authorized technical access needed to operate the service. Our hosting infrastructure processes requests and stores operational records as part of providing the website.
We do not sell contact submissions or use the form as an advertising mailing-list signup. Information may need to be preserved or disclosed when an applicable legal requirement requires it. This is not a statement that every request from a third party automatically justifies disclosure.
Retention and security limits
We retain records for the purposes described above and relevant operational or legal needs. We do not currently promise automatic deletion after a fixed number of days. You can ask us to delete information supplied through the contact form; see the request process below.
Private storage, access restrictions, and transport security reduce avoidable exposure, but no website can promise absolute security. Do not submit material that the operator does not need to handle. If you believe a submission exposed a credential, change it through the appropriate provider rather than sending more credentials to us.
Requests and corrections
Use the contact form to request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted. Identify the approximate submission date and email address so the request can be located. We may need proportionate confirmation that the request comes from the person concerned. Do not send an identity document unless a suitable process has been specifically agreed.
Requests are considered in light of applicable requirements and necessary recordkeeping. This notice does not promise universal eligibility for every privacy right or claim comprehensive compliance with every jurisdiction's privacy law.
External services and updates
We link to separate dating services and informational sources. Those services receive information when you choose to open their pages and then handle it under their own policies. Merovila does not currently embed their registration forms or send them your contact submissions.
If we add analytics, subscriptions, affiliate tracking, or other data uses, this notice will be updated to describe the actual change. The effective date below identifies the current version. Report a privacy concern through the contact form with the relevant page address.
